2.0 Progress Update 2 (getting showcase ready)
Hi Guys I've made some huge changes over the last 2 weeks as at the end of this month the 27th - 28th ill be showing it at the Tasmania game makers showcase with Bitlink who are the guys that ran the Gamesfest event where i learnt all this.
Some of the Major changes are:
Difficulty Changes: you can now use your character to select a difficulty by guiding down the respective labeled hole, at the moment all this does is just increase or decrease the enemies health, this was designed based on some feedback and some notes i took from the small showcase we did at Gamesfest where some people who had attended hadn't actually gamed at all before so it was a little difficult for that audience to enjoy it i believe but now most audiences be it new gamers or veterans should find it more enjoyable
Undead adventurers: the enemies id planned on making where going to swing swords like the player however it was actually hard to get that working for the player and hopefully i can work out some smoothing before the showcase but its not any easier for the enemies if not a little harder because i cant control it. this brought me to the decision to eliminate that future feature completely and opt to turn the enemies overlapping to do damage into a feature they are now undead adventurers summoned by the conjurer (new enemy).
The long awaited (forgotten about (didn't want to cause it was going to be hard (turns out its not))) BOSS FIGHT!: there's now a second level with 2 new enemies the conjurer who summoned all the undead adventurers and the final boss Slime you will notice that the conjurers staff and the boss slimes gem look similar that's because to even do damage to the boss slime you will need to navigate the undead minions in the level and kill the conjurer to start taking on the slime boss and the slime boss.... well.... HE BIG!! so don't get squished because he will slowly chase you.
SOME FIXES:
Boom Slime activation: he was a little janky before so now when he overlaps the player he gets picked up and then you press B or the respective button he will shoot like before this way it causes less issues with the sword swing and slimes overlapping each other.
fixed an issue where the game would crash on the load screens if you pressed the directional keys in any way this should now be eliminated.
fixed some writing being incredibly hard to read all of the opening screens have been completely overhauled and should now be legible if you find anything hard to read still let me know.
